FLIGHT TRAINING, AIRFIELD MANAGEMENT AND RELATED SERVICES

Doss Aviation, Inc. has maintained competency in performing air terminal management, transient alert services, and flight operations requirements since 1979. We were awarded the USAF Flight Screening Program in support of the Air Training Command (ATC) at Hondo, TX in 1979 and retained it for 21 years until it was terminated by the Govenment in 2000. This program emcompassed in-flight instruction, safety, weather forecasting services, facilities and grounds maintenance, flight scheduling, flight following (VFR local), aircraft maintenance, and refueling services.

Doss Aviation entered a new era of Air Force Flight training with the April 2006 award of a 10-year, fixed-price Air Education and Training Command (AETC) contract to provide initial flight screening to all USAF aviation candidates. One of our strongest areas of expertise lies in aircraft maintenance.  We have been continually maintaining military aircraft since we were awarded our first contract to sustain fifty T-41 aircraft for the USAF Academy in 1975.  Our aircraft maintenance contract performance history continues to this day with our five current aircraft maintenance contracts for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army.

This aircraft maintenance experience has ranged in scope from unit level through extensive depot level maintenance and modification, turbine engine compressor and hot section repair, honeycomb and composite structure repair and alteration, main and tail rotor blade repairs, avionics maintenance, sheet metal fabrication, scheduled inspections and flight testing of aircraft coming out of extensive maintenance.

Our aircraft maintenance experience includes the T-41, T-3, U-8, U-21, OH-6, OH-58 A,C and D series, UH-1H, N and V, UH-60, EH-60, AH-1, AH-64 and CH-47 B through D heavy lift helicopters, TG10 and TG14 Motor Gliders, TG11 Sailplanes, UV-18 Twin Otter, T51-A, Cessna 207 and 404 aircraft, as well as other fixed and rotary wing aircraft utilized by the U.S. Border Patrol, FBI, and NASA.    The company owns, operates and maintains 7 Super Cub aircraft supporting sailplane operations at the US Air Force Academy.  Additionally, our most recent program providing Initial Flight Screening services for the USAF involves full maintenance and logistical support for our current fleet of 44 Diamond DA-20-C1 flight training aircraft.

We currently provide maintenance for Air Force Space Command’s fleet of 25 UH-1N and Pacific Air Force’s fleet of 4 UH-1N helicopters.  These locations perform scheduled and unscheduled unit level maintenance.  This work is performed at four different site locations: three in the CONUS and one overseas.  Our maintenance activities encompass aircraft condition inspections to include pre-flight, post-flight and phase inspections, airframe and component repair and modifications, inspection and repair on associated GSE, maintenance-related test flights, avionics and electrical system maintenance, hydraulics system repair to include fabrication of lines and hoses, aircraft engine maintenance, environmental systems, corrosion control, non-destructive testing, and aircraft and component inspection requirements.
