The Doss Aviation Contracted Logistics Support contract at the US Air Force Academy was recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration at an awards ceremony held in November in Denver. For the 5th year in a row, Doss Aviation received the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Award. This special recognition, which is given out annually by the FAA’s national headquarters in Oklahoma City, recognizes companies for their dedication to aircraft maintenance training. Rich Hosker, FAA Safety Inspector congratulated Doss Aviation stating, “This is the first time I’ve seen a company receive this award five consecutive years.” Doss site manager, Tom Togni, said, “This award represents the dedication and commitment of our maintenance technicians to improve and enhance their maintenance expertise. I am very proud of their efforts.”
The ten-year contract supports the Academy’s cadet flying programs to include parasailing, parachuting, and fixed-wing flight instruction. Doss Aviation provides glider tow planes and pilots, and provides aircraft maintenance and logistics support on all government owned aircraft assigned to the Academy’s cadet flight instruction program.
